The question that I am going to answer is weather I thought the Tectonic Project portrayed multiple viewpoints on the Matthew Shepard story. The Story itself has many different people involved and many different accounts of what happened.
I believe that The Theater Project did a good job of covering all of the angles that presented itself in this story. They not only interviewed people, they did their research on who and why certain people needed to be interviewed. The Project also thought about the bias between those who were against homosexuality in the community and those for it, the reader got a sense of what the town was like and how the people felt about this event without being there. We got to hear first hand accounts of what happened on the night of the kidnapping from the bartender, We also got insight into Matthews life from his mentor. Another important part of the play was pulling in the stage actor who was conflicted with playing a gay person or following his parents, this added a bit of insight that helped the reader understand how Matthew felt as well. The information was chronological and easy to follow because of the. I was not certain on the outcome of the story and what ended up happening to the two men who killed Matthew, but the Theater Project was able to record that information from the sources themselves, which added more credibility.
In conclusion I think the Tectonic Theater Project did a good job of covering all viewpoints on the story, this gave the story a bit more authenticity and helps the reader understand how the community was effected by this as a whole and individually.
