Laramie Project Reflection

The Laramie project is a play that makes you feel many emotions. When reading this play I myself felt many different emotions. At times i felt sad and upset and at other times i felt happy. But most of all I felt confused. I couldn't (and still cant)wrap my head around the fact that people kill other human beings because of what they believe in or what they don't believe in.

When i  first found out we were reading the Laramie Project , I wanted to know how and why Matthew Sheppard was killed. The play did a good job portraying each character and giving their view of the story and what happened.  Each "moment" really made me want to read the next to figure out what was going to happen. I find it horrible that people want others dead just because they aren't like them or don't have the same beliefs as them. When i found out the details of Matthew sheppards murder I was more shocked than any other emotion.  I think he had every right to be openly gay and he should not have been killed for being himself. I do think though that Matthew shouldn't have been so exposing with this beliefs because there are people who aren't comfortable with gays , for the example his murderers. In conclusion though, everyone deserves to be treated with respect no matter what they believe in.

Overall i enjoyed reading this play and found it to be very interesting and attention getting. The play gives readers an understanding of what Americans who are different from others have to go through, especially gays.
