When I first started reading the Laramie project it seemed to me like any old usual play. But after reading it in depth, my opinion began to change. This wasn't any old play nor was it just any old murder. This play has views from multiple people like judges, bartenders, lesbians etc. To me it seemed like an episode from law and order. After reading more and more and playing different roles I began to see how this tragic murder effected not only friends and family of Matthew but people across town. Also the laramie project brought me to have a better understanding on how I feel about gays/lesbians. I was brought up on not having much respect for gays because what they're doing is wrong, but never would I kill a gay/lesbian human being.
In conclusion I thought the laramie project was an alright play. Also it should never be allowed to be played out in any high school because it is too explicit.I enjoyed reading the play in class and discussing the case. I believe that both the suspects should've have served the death penalty because they took an innocent life. "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth"
