Taylor's Refection

Do you think any good came from the sensationalism surrounding the Shepard case?
My answer to this question would be Yes and No because looking back at the play, a lot of people have seen the cruelty in that specific hate crime and it has spread awareness about how much pain was spread because of this hate crime and helped people to stand up against this. I also answered No because reading about the funeral and that there were people picketing against Mathew was wrong and I would never want that to happen at someone’s funeral that was close to me. The publicity also gave a bad name to Laramie. Everybody thought it was a nice little town with virtually nothing wrong with it and now that people know what has happened there, they are scared. Especially gay people. They are afraid to come out and tell people who they really are. I think that gay people who know this story who not only live in Laramie but around the united states will also be scared to come out.
